General questions

I am having problems with my student e-mail. Who should I contact?

Webpage updates/edits

I want an submit an edit for the website, what do I do?

If you don't have access, email the web custodian for your department.

If you don't know who that is, please email the Web Team (webteam@eraglobe.com) with the following information:

  • The URL to the webpage with the error/change
  • The information that is incorrect 
  • The recommended change
  • The image to be updated, any necessary additional information and etc.

I want to update my department's web pages, but don't have access to the content management system. What should I do?

Email the Web Team (webteam@eraglobe.com) with the username that needs access and to which website. Access is typically granted within 48 hours with training to follow.

If you are taking over the web maintenance for someone, be sure to include their username in the e-mail so their access can be removed.

I have access to edit in Cascade, but how do I..?

I have updated my department's web pages using the web content manager system. What do I do to have these changes reflected on the web?

When you submit your updates for publishing an e-mail is automatically sent to any web custodians assigned to your site and the Web Team. Your updates should be published within 24 hours.

FAQ: I published my page, why aren't my updates live? (For those that have publish rights)

 It can take a few minutes to process through the publish queue. Or, if you have viewed the page recently the webpage may be cached and require you to refresh your browser to see the updates. 

What is "responsive" and how do I tell if my edits are mobile-friendly?

The easiest way to tell if the content on your webpage is responsive is to resize the browser window or load the webpage on a phone or tablet.

Common web elements that need to be set to "responsive"

  • Tables
    • Avoid defining a width for table or set them to 100% 
    • example: width="100%" 
  • Images
    • use percentages rather then px.
    • set height to "auto"
    • example: width="100%" height="auto"

I made a change, but it is different than what I submitted, why?

 The Web Team will sometimes modify the submission for a variety of reasons to fix issues. Frequent reasons include:

  • Fixing layout
  • Making the page mobile friendly (responsive)
  • Spelling errors
  • Erroneous content

Where can I get photos for my website?

The University maintains imagery for self-service photos. Feel free to use this for your web or other needs. 

If you need further help sizing or replacing photos, please email the Web Team (webteam@eraglobe.com) with the following:

  • The file name of the photo you would like
  • The URL for the page that needs the photo
  • The location on that page the photo is intended

I submitted a request for change two days ago, and it's still not live!

The length of time needed to update a page depends on two things: the size/complexity of the update, and the amount of work in the queue before the update. When it comes to performing page updates, we work on a first-come, first-served basis.

There is also a chance it slipped through the cracks. Please email the Web Team (webteam@eraglobe.com) with the change that hasn't been made and we can provide an update or prioritize the task. 

I found an error on the website, what do I do?

Please email the Web Team (webteam@eraglobe.com) with the following information:

  • The URL to the webpage with the error
  • The information that is incorrect 
  • The recommended change
  • If applicable, the contact of who may have more information about the information.
